Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Saturday, September 12, 2026, and after the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, apparently the goodie bag included campaign signs, political promises and enough questionable arithmetic to keep a fact-checker’s job security in a good place.

The RNC packed more than 100 speakers into 12 hours of programming over two days. Speakers included Trump twice, JD Vance, Mike Johnson, Ted Cruz, RFK Jr., Scott Bessent, Todd Blanche, Mehmet Oz, Scott Turner, Donald Trump Jr., Karoline Leavitt and a parade of Republican Senate candidates.

Just as interesting were some of the people not onstage. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had no speaking slot, even as the convention doubled as an early showcase for possible 2028 contenders like Vance and Cruz. Senate Majority Leader John Thune was in Dallas but was not scheduled to speak, and Trump’s mention of him actually drew boos from part of the crowd. Melania Trump did not attend at all; the White House confirmed her absence beforehand but did not publicly give a specific reason. And some Republicans in competitive races kept their distance: Michigan Rep. Tom Barrett, for example, said through his campaign that attending a convention two months before Election Day was never under consideration because he needed to be with voters in his district, not because he was trying to distance himself from Trump.

There was even one especially awkward “absence”: Trump thanked Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine as though he were in the arena, and asked, “Where is General Caine?” Caine was actually several miles away speaking at a 9/11 memorial event. Pentagon rules generally bar active-duty troops from attending partisan political events in an official capacity, and that’s something a president should know as a pre-requisite.

Trump’s newest pitch during the RNC was a $5,000 “dividend” for every adult citizen only if Republicans win the House and Senate, with tariffs floated as the funding source. There are two problems with that. First, the roughly $1.2 trillion cost would take more than six years of current tariff revenue to cover. Second, this comes after earlier Trump-backed ideas for $2,000 tariff dividends and DOGE dividend checks that never materialized. There was also the $1,776 “warrior dividend” sent to roughly 1.5 million military members in December 2025. Trump described those bonuses as being made possible by tariffs. But FactCheck.org found the payments were actually funded entirely through a $2.9 billion congressional appropriation that had originally been designated for increased military housing allowances, not tariff revenue.

In other words, that money existed because Congress had already appropriated it for another purpose. The money he keeps describing is not sitting in a giant presidential piggy bank waiting to be cracked open: federal revenue goes into the government, Congress controls spending, and Washington is already spending more than it collects. So, when someone says “the money is there,” it’s fair to ask, “Where, exactly!?” Because apparently the tracking numbers aren’t available for the current or pre-existing checks.

He then expanded his check-gifting-demands, and elaborated that the money would “have” to be spent in America. It’s almost like he wants someone else to do the work of bringing money back to the U.S. for him. One of his favorite words: tariffs, not groceries, are among the topics punching holes in his own base. Holding out for 6 years, for an amount that might cover one month’s bills, is literally a stretch, and not something most Americans have the elasticity for.

Fox News and Newsmax often repeat Trump’s claims, giving the rhetoric a platform which allows their listeners to feel like, “I know something now!” Lately they’ve been supplying their viewers with a few factual numbers, instead of only rhetoric, but there’s still plenty of that to go around. The tariffs’ inability to cover the $1.2 trillion dividend-cost is one fact they decided to mention. We know the Maga base usually get’s their talking points from the Entertainment “news” networks, and we’re waiting for the day when Fox News and Newsmax either step up to the news plate, or drop the “news” identifier from their name. So when we hear any Maga, or Maga-lite, using these reasons to support Trump, we’ll know where they got it from, and hopefully know how to verbally combat it.

The dividend wasn’t the only convention claim getting a second look. FactCheck.org examined 13 major claim areas from Trump’s nearly two-hour speech and documented statements it found false, misleading, exaggerated or unsupported.

Here’s what got flagged (this only covers Trump, not any other speakers🤦‍♂️😂):

1. The $5,000 dividend: The math needs more than six years of current tariff revenue. Apparently the check is being mailed from the future.

2. Democratic socialism = communism: Different ideologies. Political science declined the merger.

3. $20 trillion in investment: Even the White House’s own speculative tally is far lower. Somewhere, $9 trillion is hiding with the checks.

4. “Largest tax cut in history”: It isn’t when measured against the size of the economy. “Largest ever” continues its exhausting career.

5. Roy Cooper and a murder: Trump distorted the facts to connect Cooper to a 2025 killing. Turns out saying someone’s name near a crime story does not make them responsible for it.

6. Record employment “by a lot”: More people are working, but the population also grew. Statistics have once again interrupted the victory lap.

7. Food prices are rapidly falling: Most aren’t. Grocery receipts remain annoyingly committed to evidence.

8. World’s cheapest prescription drugs: FactCheck.org found no evidence Americans now pay the lowest prices on Earth. Pharmacies apparently missed that memo.

9. Immigration: Trump said zero migrants entered illegally across the southern border for 15 months. Zero is not arbitrary, zero is zero, which crossings are not.

10. Oil and gas supremacy: U.S. production was already breaking records before this term. Petroleum also keeps receipts.

11. Abdul El-Sayed and 9/11: Trump connected him to Hasan Piker’s inflammatory remark even though El-Sayed explicitly rejected it. Guilt by political ZIP code is not evidence.

12. Trump Accounts make poor kids rich: Experts say that generally requires substantial additional contributions. Step one to escaping poverty: apparently have extra money.

13. “I won three times”: Trump won in 2016 and 2024 and lost in 2020. This fact-check may eventually qualify for Social Security.

    

So, that’s really the theme of the convention: the promises sound enormous, but the details have a habit of shrinking once somebody opens a calculator. Sometimes seeing the facts on paper help us all feel a little more sane, and hopefully holds a mirror up for MAGA so they can see they’ve got something on their face. Lies, they’ve got lies written all over their faces.

Twenty-five years ago, the world stopped. In this episode, we share where we were on 9/11, from a college classroom in New York to a Red Bull route in Oregon to a new mom trying to figure out why every channel suddenly looked like the same terrifying movie. Then you called, and damn, you brought stories that remind us this was never just history on a screen. It was Ground Zero volunteers, military families, near misses, unbearable loss, and people still carrying that day in their bones.

We are so grateful to everyone who trusted us with these memories. Laughter and activism belong together, but so does making room for grief, truth, and the stories that remind us why democracy and community matter.

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Friday, September 11, 2026, and today marks 25 years since nearly 3,000 people were killed on September 11, 2001. A quarter-century is a strange amount of time. Long enough for the children of 2001 to have families and careers of their own. Long enough that, today, roughly 100 million Americans, of the nearly 342.6 million, are around the age of 25 or younger, making up an enormous part of the country that was not alive when those planes struck, or was too young to remember it. That’s around 30%, and for them, September 11 is history, not something personally experienced. For millions of others, it is still a morning of mourning they can picture almost minute by minute.

America did rebuild. The Memorial opened 10 years later in 2011. The Museum followed in 2014, and One World Trade Center opened that November. Rebuilding a skyline took more than a decade, but for many families, first responders, veterans, and witnesses, that work of rebuilding never really ends.

But one message from those first awful days deserves to survive every generation: we were supposed to stand together.

That did not mean pretending Americans were all alike. In fact, six days after the attacks, Republican President George W. Bush stood inside the Islamic Center of Washington and reminded frightened Americans that Muslims were their neighbors, doctors, soldiers, parents and fellow citizens, and that terrorism did not belong to an entire religion. How low the bar has fallen since then.

That history makes this week’s fight over New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani difficult to ignore. A petition seeking to keep the city’s first Muslim mayor away from the 25th anniversary ceremony has surpassed 100,000 signatures, and Republicans including Rudy Giuliani and former Gov. George Pataki have urged him not to attend. Other 9/11 families have defended his right to be there and asked that the anniversary remain focused on honoring those who were lost. Mamdani, meanwhile, designated September 11 a citywide Day of Remembrance and Service and says he plans to attend to pay his respects.

Even though we all wish Trump’s name could remain out of ONE story, it’s worth speaking the real truths, and that’s not meaning his “truth social insider tips.” President Trump has also pledged that America will “never forget.” But this week he added himself rather dramatically to the story, saying that after the attacks he brought construction workers to Ground Zero, worked there “long and hard,” and at one point was carried away by firefighters because a nearby building was unstable. The problem is that those accounts have not been independently verified. The earliest known photos or video place Trump near Ground Zero on September 13, 2001, and former FDNY officials have said they had no knowledge of him bringing the large crews he has described. The White House has of course not produced evidence confirming the firefighter-rescue story.

At the same time, his own former chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, has publicly said Trump made deeply disparaging remarks about wounded troops, prisoners of war, Gold Star families and Americans killed in service. Trump has, as per usual, denied and attacked those accounts.

And perhaps that is the lesson worth carrying forward. “Never Forget” cannot only mean remembering what was done to America. It also means remembering what Americans promised one another afterward: courage over fear, neighbors over suspicion, service over selfishness, and citizenship larger than race, religion or party.

America has been through terrorism, wars, recessions, a pandemic, political violence and profound division. Today our institutions are again undergoing enormous change; even the Heritage Foundation said this summer that about 53% of Project 2025’s proposals had been adopted, while outside trackers describe hundreds of related federal actions as completed or underway. People can, and emphatically do, disagree over those policies and what they mean for the country and what we stand for.

We still belong to each other. We’re grateful for each one of you. We hold onto the sacrifices of all, and we remember this day 25 years ago. We must pass forward the message of unity and love, and hold on tight to our individual patriotism. What that looks like for each of us will be different; we should not be expected to act a specific way, especially when life, and all it’s happenings, are different for each of us. Be you, and let others be others. That should be a pretty simple concept, and that’s one worth continuing to fight for.

We are so appreciative of those who wrote in with trust, openness, honesty, and heart. Your stories are heard, seen, and we all know that rebuilding in our minds is harder than just scheduling a construction project. Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Thursday, September 10, 2026, and the White House has somehow produced a political sitcom involving a portable printer, an absent First Lady and Donald Trump’s sudden hair color preference change.

Harp, Trump’s famously devoted “human printer,” reportedly spent more than a year working extremely close to him while declining to complete the normal security-clearance process. Why she resisted it remains unclear, yet she stayed at Trump’s side, traveled with him, fed him printed news, polls, social posts, and eventually completed the process and received clearance. She also isn’t operating alone: reporting describes her as part of a tight circle that includes Susie Wiles and former press secretary Karoline Leavitt, while Rep. Anna Paulina Luna says she speaks with Harp weekly and has praised her work. Harp also overlaps with Dan Scavino on Trump’s social media pipeline. Meanwhile, some longtime Trump aides have reportedly been uneasy for years about how much access and influence she has over what reaches him. We’ve also learned that Trump gave her a $45,000 personal holiday gift. Apparently printer ink isn’t the only expensive thing in that relationship. 🤣

So Natalie isn’t outside the White House window holding a printer asking to come in. She’s inside, and apparently knows several of the people holding the keys.

Meanwhile, Melania is skipping this week’s big Republican convention in Dallas, while continuing her own projects. Her recent public work has centered on her Fostering the Future initiative, including a $2 million IndyCar/Fox-backed scholarship expansion for foster youth. Trump, on the other hand, recently debuted noticeably darker hair, immediately sending the internet into another round of “Why did he do that!?”

And maybe that’s the funniest part: Trump has one aide literally curating what gets printed for him, a First Lady maintaining a noticeably and deliberately separate schedule, and an entire country trying to figure out what the hell is going on from photographs, press exchanges, and hair color.

We may not know exactly what’s going on, but we can all see something happening, whatever it is.

While we wait for somebody to print us the answer, and hopefully not by Natalie Harp, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and America’s foreign policy relationships are starting to look less like diplomacy and more like one person showing up for couples counseling, while the other keeps setting the couch on fire.

We’ve been watching this pattern for a while: Trump’s foreign policy choices keep carrying real consequences for longtime allies, damaging relationships, disrupting trade and creating instability. Meanwhile, leaders like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un are met with a noticeably different level of patience and personal access. Donald Trump is choosing where to apply the “pressure,” and lately Canada seems to be getting a hell of a lot more of it than Vladimir Putin.

On Tuesday, Canada retaliated with tariffs on roughly $20 billion in American goods after the latest U.S. trade measures. Trump’s administration has gone beyond tariffs too, restricting Canadian products from major federal contracts and threatening additional Canadian industries. Trump has also repeatedly talked about Canada becoming the 51st state, renamed Lake Ontario “Lake America,” and this weekend posted a map depicting Canada as part of a U.S. flag covered North America. Prime Minister Mark Carney has responded by arguing that Canada needs to reduce its dependence on the United States rather than accept terms his government says would weaken Canadian sovereignty and industry.

And on the very same Tuesday that the pressure campaign against Canada intensified, Trump spent roughly an hour on the phone with Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin called the conversation “constructive,” even as Russia and Ukraine resumed deadly attacks, and Moscow continued insisting it intends to achieve its military objectives in a war now well into its fifth year. Trump’s envoys have also recently traveled to both Moscow and Kyiv trying to restart negotiations.

Then there’s Kim Jong Un. The White House reiterated just last week that Trump remains willing to talk to Kim “without any preconditions,” and officials have been preparing for the possibility of another agreement with North Korea. Diplomacy with an adversary is not inherently unusual, but placed next to the increasingly punitive treatment of Canada, the contrast is difficult to miss.

And while all of this is happening, the U.S.-Iran war has now passed six months and just escalated again. The U.S. military says it destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers Tuesday after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard attempted ballistic missile attacks on a U.S. warship. Iran then said it launched missiles toward U.S. targets in Jordan. Oil prices climbed with Brent briefly approaching $100 a barrel, bringing the consequences of the conflict straight back toward American wallets.

That doesn’t prove a secret motive behind every decision, and talking with adversaries can be an essential part of diplomacy. But the pattern of who gets threatened, who gets accommodated, and who keeps getting invited back into the room is the result of deliberate policy choices.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has responded by arguing that Canada needs to reduce its dependence on the United States rather than accept terms his government says would weaken Canadian sovereignty and industry. And he hasn’t exactly been subtle about his frustration with Washington’s approach. Canada is now looking toward Europe and other trading partners while preparing for the economic costs of becoming less dependent on the United States. Last week, Carney told the Trump administration to “stop doing memes, stop throwing shade and stop trying to be tough” and start being serious about negotiations. In other words: Canada is willing to negotiate, but Carney is making clear that he doesn’t consider trolling, threats and social media chest-thumping a substitute for diplomacy.

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and apparently, in Washington, it is now Bring Your Own Bulldozer To Work Day. When Trump’s “re-naming” efforts fail to meet his expectations, he pivots. He won’t stop scheduling endless construction projects that serve as nothing more than an expensive, chaotic soundtrack for his nap-time ASMR. Clearly, as we all know, he’s not sleeping at night.🤣

Trump’s $400 million plus White House ballroom is moving forward again after the Supreme Court allowed construction to continue while the lawsuit plays out, even after lower courts raised serious questions about whether demolishing the East Wing and replacing it with a massive privately financed ballroom could proceed without congressional approval. Then there’s his proposed 250-foot triumphal arch near Arlington, but we might as well call it the triumphant-less arch. Add to the list the Trump-backed Kennedy Center overhaul, plans to remake public golf space at East Potomac Park, and because apparently no water-bodies are safe either, including the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Trump personally championed a rapid makeover of the Reflecting Pool, we all know this story well, promising it would look better than ever. Instead, the project has battled bright green algae, damage to its new surface, repeated draining and repairs, millions more in spending, and now storm damage that flooded the work area and scattered fencing and debris. The administration has blamed vandals for some earlier damage, though the project has also experienced acknowledged contractor and construction problems. In other words, the reflecting pool is now reflecting something after all: the whole damn renovation strategy.

Presidents renovate things. This is bigger than renovation. The East Wing is gone. The Rose Garden has been remade. The ballroom keeps growing. The Kennedy Center is being transformed. A giant triumphal arch is proposed. A historic public golf course is being targeted for a championship makeover. And the Reflecting Pool has become an expensive construction saga. Taken together, it’s clear this isn’t maintaining the nation’s shared spaces, it’s one president trying to redesign Washington from his own faux-gold tastes all for himself and his buddies.

And here’s the part that makes the ballroom especially uncomfortable: wealthy individuals and major corporations helped finance it while questions continue about what access, influence, or government business some donors may have. That doesn’t automatically establish a quid pro quo. But the People’s House should not need a billionaire donor wall to explain who paid for the demolition crew. Someone, probably many individuals, need a harsh reminder that these buildings, monuments, and public spaces don’t belong to Donald Trump and his fantasies. They belong to the American people.

While we wait to see which national landmark gets a gold-plated jackhammer next, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Monday, September 7, 2026, and on this Labor Day weekend we would like to recognize you, the people, the workers, who are responsible for keeping America functioning.

Friday’s jobs report actually brought some good news. Employers added 162,000 jobs in August, unemployment stayed at 4.1%, and June and July were revised upward by a combined 55,000 jobs. Restaurants added 59,000 jobs, local government education added 42,000, and construction continued inching higher. Information was one of the clear weak spots, losing jobs again. So the labor market has more fight left in it than a lot of people expected.

But if you are looking at those numbers and wondering why you still feel financially exhausted, you’re not imagining things, it IS hard out there.

Average hourly wages are up 3.1% over the last year. Meanwhile, shelter costs are up 3.2%, rent is up 2.9%, electricity is up 4.2% and utility gas is up 4.3%. For homeowners, insurance has become another major bite out of the household budget. A new national insurance-affordability index found homeowners insurance consumed 24% more of median household income in 2025 than it did in 2020.

And then there is actually buying a house. Mortgage rates climbed to roughly 6.7% heading into the holiday weekend, meaning even people who managed to save for a down payment can look at the monthly payment and suddenly develop a deep emotional attachment to their current landlord.

Then you have transportation. Gas is averaging roughly $4.14 a gallon, the highest Labor Day price on record, while diesel has climbed to about $5.85, which matters even if you do not own a diesel truck because diesel moves the food, packages and approximately everything else you buy.

Medical care belongs on that list too. The latest CPI shows medical-care prices up 1.7% over the last year, but the pressure people actually feel can be much larger than that headline number. Employer-sponsored family health coverage averaged nearly $27,000 a year in 2025, up 6% in a single year, with workers themselves paying about $6,850 of that through their paychecks. And employers increasingly point to prescription-drug prices, new specialty drugs, hospital prices and higher medical utilization as reasons premiums keep climbing. Small business insurers are already proposing a median 14% premium increase for 2027, with medical and prescription costs among the biggest reasons why.

So when somebody gets a modest raise, that extra money isn’t necessarily becoming savings, a vacation or even a nicer dinner. It can disappear into the health-insurance deduction before the paycheck even arrives, then into deductibles, copays and prescriptions afterward. Health care is supposed to be the thing that helps when life goes wrong.

So yes, wages are a little higher. Jobs came back strongly in August. Those are real positives. But housing, utilities, insurance, groceries, transportation, and medical care, are the bills people cannot simply unsubscribe from. When those costs keep consuming more of the paycheck, telling somebody their wage went up three percent doesn’t mean much if the money was already spoken for before it hit their bank account. We would simply like the jobs to come with enough money to participate in America.😆

And yet, every morning millions of people still get up. They clock in. They open the store. They teach the kids. They fix the roads. They care for patients. They drive the trucks. They answer the phones. They build the houses they increasingly cannot afford to buy.

That is resilience.💙

America’s workers have spent years adapting to higher prices, housing shortages, insurance bills, expensive commutes and an economy that regularly congratulates itself before asking anyone whether they can afford it.

So this Labor Day, forget politicians taking credit for your work. They can keep their speeches.

You built it. You stocked it. You taught it. You repaired it. You served it. You delivered it. You cleaned it. You coded it. You cared for it. And you kept the damn lights on, and held your head up high while you were doing it!

Labor Day belongs to you!

While we celebrate you, and while you enjoy the one holiday specifically created to celebrate working people, many of whom are, naturally, still working today, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Saturday, September 5, 2026, and ICE is apparently entering its “more money, more people, more gadgets, what could possibly require oversight?” era.

The agency has been expanding fast. ICE hired roughly 12,000 officers in less than a year, while a whistleblower from its own Office of Professional Responsibility alleges the hiring rush involved an “unprecedented lowering” of vetting standards, including cases where basic background checks had not been completed before recruits moved forward. ICE says it continues to follow proper vetting requirements, and the DHS inspector general is investigating the hiring process.

Then there’s the equipment aisle. ICE awarded a $16.7 million no-bid contract for 6,000 electric-shock gloves, which the agency describes as a less-lethal tool for controlling resisting detainees. Sixteen Democratic senators have raised questions about training, medical risks and oversight. And DHS is also pursuing $1 million to $2 million worth of Boston Dynamics SPOT robot dogs for inspections, situational awareness and dangerous environments. Because apparently the phrase “ICE robot dog” has officially graduated from dystopian screenplay to federal procurement document.

And while all of that power is expanding, one ICE officer is now facing a very different kind of scrutiny.

Christian Castro pleaded not guilty Friday to six federal false-statement charges connected to a January shooting during Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. Prosecutors allege Castro shot Venezuelan man Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in the leg through a front door as Sosa-Celis was retreating inside, then falsely told investigators that Sosa-Celis, and another man, had attacked officers with a broom and shovel. Federal prosecutors originally charged the two men with assaulting ICE officers, but dropped those charges after video evidence contradicted the officers’ account. Castro has been suspended from ICE since February and also faces separate Minnesota state charges.

And that’s the part worth holding onto.

The first official version did not automatically become the final version. Video was examined. Charges against the men were dropped. Investigators kept going. Now an officer himself is facing prosecution over what authorities allege he told them.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department says states participating in TANF or SSI should require all state agencies to report people they know to be unlawfully present to DHS, and warns that states refusing to comply could risk federal program funding.

So if ICE is going to receive more money, hire more officers, buy new technology, and gain access to more information, then the answer shouldn’t be less scrutiny. It should be more receipts. More cameras. More whistleblowers. More investigators. More accountability. Because accountability isn’t anti-law-enforcement. It’s how law enforcement earns trust.

Suddenly, Americans were downloading the app again, MapQuest was trolling MAGA online, and the service your dad used to print directions to Applebee’s became the resistance hero nobody saw coming. Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Friday, September 4, 2026, and apparently America’s newest financial product is… Donald Trump’s face on pocket change.

The U.S. Mint is now selling an official $1 coin featuring Trump, and here’s where it gets wonderfully stupid: the “gold colored” coin contains no gold at all. The Mint says it weighs 8.1 grams and consists of 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese, and 2% nickel, so “gold colored” is doing some Olympic level work in the marketing department. It’s mostly copper and is legally worth exactly one dollar. But a 25 coin roll costs $61, $2.44 per dollar, while a 100 coin bag costs $154.50. Classic mark-up alongside the president who loves to put his mark on everything 🤣

Meanwhile, Trump’s administration is escalating its economic and military pressure campaign against Iran, and another federal judge has temporarily blocked his latest attempt to restrict birthright citizenship. But back to the Presidential Chuck E. Cheese token.😆

The coin itself doesn’t appear to put the markup into Trump’s pocket. The bigger ethics question is the pattern: a sitting president surrounded by government products bearing his name and face while his family simultaneously operates enormous private financial ventures. Trump reported more than $1.4 billion in crypto-related income for 2025, including roughly $515 million from World Liberty Financial token sales, World Liberty Financial has since received approval for its own federally chartered bank, generating new conflict of interest legislation in Congress. And his kids are of course doing just fine: estimates suggest Eric, Don Jr. and Barron may have received around $80 million a piece from World Liberty token sales alone, with additional crypto holdings potentially worth far more.

So Dad’s administration is selling supporters a $1 Trump coin for $2.44 while the Trump family is making hundreds of millions selling a completely different kind of coin. One is mostly copper, the other one apparently turns proximity to the presidency into money.

So no, the Trump coin isn’t crypto. It’s just remarkably on-brand for a president encouraging you to start wondering where the Oval Office keeps it’s merch table.

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Thursday, September 3, 2026, and the fight over the Epstein files is moving into its next round, with lawmakers pushing for more disclosure, more accountability and finally unlocking padlocks on those file drawers.

Thomas Massie is pushing the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, and his new House discharge petition is gathering signatures, 79 signatures already, in an effort to force another vote. The legislation is designed to give survivors, members of Congress and state officials actual legal tools to challenge DOJ when records are withheld. On August 31, Massie also took to the House floor and publicly named 14 people he said should be investigated as possible Epstein co-conspirators. Here’s the list if you missed it.

Jes Staley, Leon Black, Les Wexner, David Copperfield, Lapo Elkann, Tom Pritzker, Glenn Dubin, Frédéric Fekkai, Edoardo Teodorani, Jean-Luc Brunel, Daniel Siad, Ramsey Elkholy, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew), and Lesley Groff.

Thomas Massie isn’t alone in keeping the pressure on. Massie, Ro Khanna and Teresa Leger Fernández are leading the House’s Epstein Files Transparency Act II, with Jeff Merkley and Ben Ray Luján carrying the Senate version. Ron Wyden is attacking the problem through Epstein’s money trail, pushing legislation aimed at Treasury and the financial institutions that moved enormous sums through Epstein’s network, and determining whether banks violated anti-money-laundering laws. Jamie Raskin, Robert Garcia, and Pramila Jayapal have been using their committee positions to demand unredacted records and investigate what may still be buried in the files.

In other words, this thing has officially developed subcommittees: Massie and Khanna want the files, Wyden wants the bank records, Raskin wants answers from DOJ, while the survivors still wait for justice.

While we wait for three million files, bank records and to see what apparently half of Washington has swept under their rugs, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂

Trump jumped directly into the growing data-center fight this week, warning communities that reject them they could wind up “backwards and poor,” calling data centers a “Golden Goose” and arguing that America needs them to compete in the AI economy. The political problem for Trump is that opposition to the giant facilities has become bipartisan, including Republicans worried about electricity prices, development and what gets built in their communities. Telling those voters they’re choosing poverty is certainly one approach to coalition building.

Meanwhile, the FDA recall page looks like somebody accidentally ordered a tasting menu. Recent notices include mangoes over potential Salmonella, radish sprouts over possible E. coli or Salmonella, jalapeño products connected to a Salmonella investigation, Outshine fruit bars over possible glass contamination, tomato bisque over possible Listeria, breads with undeclared allergens and potato sourdough that may contain pieces of metal. At this point grocery shopping comes with patch notes.

And that raises a bigger question than any individual recall. The FDA lost thousands of employees during the administration’s HHS restructuring, including support staff whose work helped inspections, laboratories and safety communications function. Officials insisted front-line inspectors would be protected, but the FDA later began hiring contractors to replace some dismissed staff and this summer received authorization to hire about 2,200 people. At the same time, Kennedy’s HHS has explicitly shifted its public health agenda toward chronic disease, nutrition and Make America Healthy Again. That may be a legitimate policy priority, but Americans are still going to need somebody watching for Salmonella while everybody debates seed oils.

But never fear, okay maybe a little.😆 None of this means America’s food supply has suddenly collapsed, the fact that recalls are being identified and publicized is part of the safety system working. But it does mean checking what you bought matters, especially when recalls can be regional, national or buried inside another prepared food. Here’s the FDA Recall Website Page for those interested.

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and apparently “leopards eating people’s faces” has become less of a metaphor and more of a Republican policy rollout.

The U.S. and Iran are trading strikes again after nearly a month without a major exchange, while military leaders have reportedly warned that a prolonged campaign could strain American capabilities elsewhere. Back home, the House has returned from vacation to deal with the thrilling little matter of keeping the government funded past September 30, because nothing says responsible governing like repeatedly approaching the edge of a shutdown just to make sure everybody’s paying attention.

On top of Milo Yiannopoulos catching the deportation winds, the MAGA boomerang is still flying through the air. Trump’s new plan to bring in 300,000 metric tons of lower-tariff foreign beef is getting hammered by Republican lawmakers and American ranchers, while hospitals are already preparing for the effects of nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid reductions, including systems serving rural communities Republicans depend on politically.

Turns out the fine print on “owning the libs” occasionally says some restrictions also apply to those thinking they’re in the clear.

While we wait to see where the boomerang lands, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂

Donald Trump apparently looked at everything currently happening in the world and decided what America really needed was a fight with Canada over the name of a lake. Then came the presidential trolling, the “Lake America” nonsense and an internet response that quickly became far funnier than anything Washington could manufacture on purpose.

So naturally, Meme Wars has entered the chat.

The Danger Corps absolutely flooded us with material for this episode, and Jim, Tiffany and Nick attempt to make sense of armed geese, MAGA logic, America’s increasingly bizarre timeline and what happens when a president picks a fight with a country that has both universal healthcare and access to Photoshop.

Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Monday, August 31, 2026, and apparently America is undergoing a rebranding exercise nobody remembers approving.

Six months into the Iran war, Americans are still feeling its economic aftershocks through higher oil and travel costs. Meanwhile, a federal judge has again temporarily blocked Trump’s mail-voting executive order, setting up yet another court fight just as the midterms get uncomfortably close. And because governing apparently leaves time for graphic design, Google Maps is now showing “Lake America” instead of Lake Ontario to U.S. users after Trump ordered the federal name changed.

Here’s the fun part: an executive order can make Lake America the official name used by the U.S. federal government. It cannot order Canada, other countries, international organizations, states or the entire human race to play along. So yes, Washington can change its maps. No, Trump has not acquired the international naming rights to water.😆🌊

And the rebranding department isn’t done. The Trump-controlled Kennedy Center board is still trying to put his name back on the building after a federal judge ruled that Congress, not the board, controls the memorial’s official name. At this rate, the Statue of Liberty should probably stop answering unexpected calls like the rest of us.😂

While all that gets sorted out, we thought you could use a laugh!!
