Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Thursday, September 3, 2026, and the fight over the Epstein files is moving into its next round, with lawmakers pushing for more disclosure, more accountability and finally unlocking padlocks on those file drawers.
Thomas Massie is pushing the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, and his new House discharge petition is gathering signatures, 79 signatures already, in an effort to force another vote. The legislation is designed to give survivors, members of Congress and state officials actual legal tools to challenge DOJ when records are withheld. On August 31, Massie also took to the House floor and publicly named 14 people he said should be investigated as possible Epstein co-conspirators. Here’s the list if you missed it.
Jes Staley, Leon Black, Les Wexner, David Copperfield, Lapo Elkann, Tom Pritzker, Glenn Dubin, Frédéric Fekkai, Edoardo Teodorani, Jean-Luc Brunel, Daniel Siad, Ramsey Elkholy, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew), and Lesley Groff.
Thomas Massie isn’t alone in keeping the pressure on. Massie, Ro Khanna and Teresa Leger Fernández are leading the House’s Epstein Files Transparency Act II, with Jeff Merkley and Ben Ray Luján carrying the Senate version. Ron Wyden is attacking the problem through Epstein’s money trail, pushing legislation aimed at Treasury and the financial institutions that moved enormous sums through Epstein’s network, and determining whether banks violated anti-money-laundering laws. Jamie Raskin, Robert Garcia, and Pramila Jayapal have been using their committee positions to demand unredacted records and investigate what may still be buried in the files.
In other words, this thing has officially developed subcommittees: Massie and Khanna want the files, Wyden wants the bank records, Raskin wants answers from DOJ, while the survivors still wait for justice.
While we wait for three million files, bank records and to see what apparently half of Washington has swept under their rugs, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂
