I love that Walt Masterson and co. came to troll Svachime Suozzi. He's such a Vichysois, or Vichysuozzi. Lukewarm soup. Suozzi has the TH in a synagogue, and people protesting Icestapo get manhandled by them. Shame on them may their memories be forgotten.
I wouldn’t waste any time on trying to get the second half of the duopoly, aka the Democrats, to change their tune on ICE. If you remember, Obama was the president that raised ICE’s budget a whopping 300% while he was in office. He was also proud to call himself “deporter-in-chief” and his record still holds—Trump hasn’t gotten near it yet. So, screw the duopoly—kick them ALL out of office. Duopolists only work for their billionaire owners and their lobbies such as AIPAC, not the people.
Actually "deportation" is a problem because according to the current stats they are "deporting" (the legal term is "removal" or the "removing" of persons) who are here in the country legally. In my time working for an immigration advocacy non-profit, we never witnessed people being removed because of being here legally--either as resident aliens (Green Card holders), TPS recipients, or awaiting a ruling on their asylum claim, etc. ICE is just picking up everyone they can get to easily--including American citizens!--to make some sort of horribly inflated quota set by the administration. So, yes "deportation" is a problem since ICE doesn't seem to understand the law surrounding who can be here legally and the proper legal way to take a person to immigration court to challenge their immigration status. The lawsuits already filed in Federal courts are piling up! (Read Austin Kocher's excellent Substack on the statistics on immigration: https://austinkocher.substack.com )
That's part of what I meant about done properly, which ICE is not doing. Faces NOT covered and showing THEIR ID's, signed judicial warrants, not entering homes w/o permission, no smashing car windows...pretty much everything they are doing is what I would call doing it wrong. And, I believe, tRump is a SOB for withdrawing green cards, Visas, refugee status, etc.

Deportation isn't the problem. It is THE WAY it is being done and the AGRESSIVENESS OF ICE that is the problem.
