Meanwhile, a new Financial Times poll found 53% of voters say they are financially worse off since Trump returned to office, while 64% disapprove of his handling of inflation. Trump promised to make everything cheaper and has instead made grocery shopping feel like bidding at Sotheby’s.

And with the midterms approaching, the administration is asking the Supreme Court to revive parts of Trump’s blocked mail-voting order while Republicans prepare another run at the SAVE America Act. Nothing screams confidence like redesigning the voting rules right before voters get to grade you.
