Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Monday, August 24, 2026, and America woke up in a trade war, a forever war and a loyalty test nobody can pass.
Trump slapped 50% tariffs on roughly $20 billion in Canadian goods, so Prime Minister Mark Carney announced dollar-for-dollar retaliation beginning September 8. Trump is now threatening Canadian cars and steel, because apparently the fastest way to lower prices is to make everything from lumber to hockey sticks cost twice as much. Meanwhile, the administration is preparing what Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent calls an “economic D-Day” against Iran, threatening countries that continue doing business with Tehran as the six-month war keeps squeezing global oil traffic. Nothing says “peace through strength” like seeing how many international crises you can fit inside one Costco receipt.
And while a U.S. Navy sailor works 12-hour shifts aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, immigration authorities arrested his father, who has lived here for 19 years, has a work permit and reportedly has no criminal record. His son is serving America overseas while America detains his dad at home. Apparently patriotism now comes with blackout dates.
While the government conducts three separate stress tests on the human nervous system, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂
