Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Monday, August 17, 2026, and apparently America’s long national weekend wasn’t nearly long enough!!
Donald Trump is scaling back military exercises with South Korea because he says he has a “very good relationship” with Kim Jong Un, which is comforting if your national-security strategy is based on whether the dictator sent you a nice birthday card. 🙄
Meanwhile, newly confirmed Attorney General Todd Blanche refused to pledge that the Justice Department would remain independent from the White House. Nothing suspicious there. Just Trump’s former personal lawyer explaining that the president should absolutely have a voice in prosecutions. Finally, Republican Senator and actual physician Bill Cassidy called Trump’s attempt to dismantle the combined MMR vaccine schedule “crazy” and “stupid.” When your own party starts using the medically accurate terminology, you know things are going GREAT.
