Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Thursday, October 22, 2026, and Washington is discovering that not every executive wish comes with a complimentary rubber stamp.
Democratic leaders have filed a new federal lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s attempts to pressure state election officials and interfere with voter rolls ahead of November 3. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are among those asking a judge to protect legally registered voters. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court refused to immediately let the administration enforce new restrictions on medical care for transgender federal prisoners, leaving a lower-court block in place. And in Ohio, Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign confirmed it produced an ad featuring Democratic opponent Amy Acton’s estranged mother, then committed $4 million to promoting it despite bipartisan criticism. When your campaign strategy requires dragging somebody’s painful childhood into an advertisement, perhaps the problem isn’t the advertising budget.
The encouraging part? People are challenging questionable decisions in court, and not every administration request is getting a yes. Democracy still has people showing up to do the work.
