Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Friday, October 9, 2026, and Washington has apparently decided the best way to finish the week is to put everything on hold, except the nonsense. That department is still working overtime.
Trump announced he won’t launch new attacks on Iran before the November 3 midterms, saying talks are productive, although the details seem to be enjoying an extended vacation. Apparently even war has to check the campaign calendar now. Meanwhile, the administration suspended Microsoft and other tech companies from a green-card sponsorship program, alleging immigration-related abuses. Microsoft disputes the administration’s characterization of its practices. And over at the White House, a federal judge extended protections for CNN, MS NOW and Politico, questioning the administration’s reasoning for banning reporters. Apparently the First Amendment has been called into another performance review.
And with the November 3 midterms approaching, Thursday turned into political debate night! In Michigan, Senate candidates Abdul El-Sayed (D) and Mike Rogers (R) sparred over healthcare, foreign policy and Trump, even arguing through a commercial break. Georgia’s Jon Ossoff (D) and Mike Collins (R) clashed over affordability and healthcare, while Maine’s Susan Collins (R) and Troy Jackson (D) battled over healthcare costs and government spending. Maine also hosted a three-way governor’s debate covering immigration, housing and taxes. Apparently the candidates heard “debate your differences” and decided the commercial breaks were merely suggestions.
While we wait for Washington to discover that governing is supposed to involve actual governing, we thought you could use a laugh!! 😂
