Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Friday, November 6, 2026, and for the first time in a while, the weekend feels a little lighter! The election dust is settling, the air feels fresher, and America has officially traded campaign panic for a brand-new work schedule. We can finally exhale, but nobody should mistake that for clocking out!
First up, Democrats are preparing to take control of BOTH chambers of Congress in January, and the conversation is already shifting from winning elections to delivering results. Incoming lawmakers are talking about affordability, healthcare, and stronger oversight, while different wings of the party debate how to move forward. Meanwhile, Alaska and Mississippi still have unresolved Senate races, proving the counting crew hasn’t even finished its shift! And Trump is busy defending his record and focusing on Washington renovations while Republicans sort through their losses.
In addition, Republicans have started turning on each other faster than coworkers fighting over the last Friday off! JD Vance is blaming the Iran war, Republican strategists are pointing at Trump’s policies, and House Republicans are questioning whether Mike Johnson and his leadership team should keep their jobs. Even Texas Republicans are blaming Trump, Ken Paxton, and one another for their losses. With GOP leadership elections coming November 10, the finger-pointing has officially become a full-time position. Nobody wants responsibility, but everybody wants somebody fired!
The good news? We don’t have to solve the next two years before breakfast. The voters did their part, the next chapter is taking shape, and accountability is getting a fresh appointment on the calendar. Our work isn’t ending. It’s finally getting started!
