Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Monday, October 5, 2026, and apparently Washington spent the weekend looking around the room and deciding what America really needed was another task force with a “much cooler name” for something that already has a name.
Trump announced a new “Super Intelligence Force” to coordinate the federal government’s approach to artificial intelligence, led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton alongside officials from the FTC, Pentagon and OPM. Yes, AI has now been rebranded as “Super Intelligence,” because apparently even technology has to go through the marketing department. Meanwhile, state election officials are warning that federal support against foreign interference and misinformation has weakened heading into the midterms, even as U.S. intelligence sees Russia, China and Iran trying to sow distrust. Aside from all that, Democrats are already drafting their post-Trump cleanup list, including proposals to restrict presidential emergency powers, strengthen ethics rules, protect Justice Department independence and prevent presidents from simply remodeling the White House whenever a mystery spirit moves them.
Basically, America woke up Monday with artificial intelligence getting a promotion, election officials checking the locks, and Congress pre-writing the house rules for whoever lives here next.
