Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Monday, October 19, 2026, and with Election Day approaching, some traditionally Republican territory is getting a lot more attention than usual. Turns out, trying to control the political map doesn't mean you can control the people who vote on it!
Here’s something worth celebrating: the Democratic National Committee raised more than $10.25 million from small-dollar donors in September, beating comparable fundraising totals from the 2014, 2018, and 2022 midterm cycles. Even better, roughly one in five contributors was donating for the first time! That’s real participation from ordinary people, not just another billionaire opening his checkbook. The DNC has faced financial challenges this year, so the fundraising increase matters, although donations alone don’t decide elections. Votes do! So make sure you’re registered, know your voting options, and get out there and cast your ballot! Everyday Americans are proving that our dollars can make some noise, but our voices at the ballot box can make an even bigger impact! 🩵
And those campaigns are reaching into some interesting places. Democrats are contesting races in traditionally Republican territory, including Texas, Kansas, and South Carolina. In Texas, James Talarico is challenging Ken Paxton for the Senate, while several previously safer Republican House districts have become more competitive. Turns out, you can redraw the political map all you want, but you can't redraw the determination of Americans fighting to protect their right to vote!
