What an absolutely cursed week. Trump is fighting with Canada. Iran is in the headlines. Epstein refuses to disappear. Natalie Harp is still lurking around the plot like a character the writers introduced three seasons too late. The midterms are getting closer. And then we lost Dolly fucking Parton. So today we are prescribing the only medicine currently covered by the Danger Corps health plan: memes. We’ve got fifteen of them, and the internet showed absolutely no mercy.
This is why laughter matters to us. Not because any of this is trivial, but because staying angry and terrified 24 hours a day is a spectacularly shitty long-term organizing strategy. Political comedy gives us a chance to tell the truth, blow off some steam and remind each other that we are not watching this madness alone.
