Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Saturday, October 24, 2026, and Washington has reached the point where even having the same name as a Republican senator can become a federal emergency!
First up, Alaska! The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit challenging how the state’s Senate election could be certified if Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan loses. The controversy? Another candidate named Daniel Sullivan is on the ballot! Trump says he personally ordered the lawsuit, while election-law experts are questioning whether the federal government has the authority it’s claiming. Evidently, the GOP has discovered a new election strategy: If you don’t like the possible outcome, sue the alphabet!
Meanwhile, Trump is rolling back some tariffs on Canadian products as the midterms approach, including relief affecting northern states such as Maine. Funny how those economic policies become negotiable when voters start noticing the price tags! And there’s more encouraging news: The Cook Political Report now favors Democrats in the 218 House seats needed for a majority. That’s a forecast, not a result, but it’s another sign the Republican campaign map isn’t behaving as planned. Somebody better check whether the red markers came with an expiration date!
