Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Tuesday, October 27, 2026, and Pete Hegseth may have discovered that the Pentagon has an exit door, and suddenly it looks more inviting than the executive office!
First up, new reporting suggests Hegseth may be eyeing a Senate seat in Tennessee if Republican Marsha Blackburn wins the governor’s race. Nothing is confirmed, and the Pentagon calls the speculation gossip. But the timing is something else! Republican Congressman Thomas Massie says he plans to force a vote on eight articles of impeachment when Congress returns November 9. The allegations include violations of congressional war powers and unlawful military operations. Hegseth hasn’t been impeached, but Massie is already checking the calendar! And just to make things more interesting, Republican Tim Burchett is reportedly interested in that same Senate seat. Pete may be looking for an exit strategy, but there’s already a line at the door!
Meanwhile, the war in Iran is far from settled. Trump is still threatening renewed strikes, even as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan push for diplomatic talks. The Pentagon has also revised its publicly reported military death toll following questions about its casualty accounting. American service members and their families deserve accurate answers, not another round of political musical chairs!
