Hello, Danger Corps! It’s Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and Washington is throwing around promises, cash, and campaign slogans like somebody found the emergency panic button.
Trump took his midterm rescue tour to North Carolina, where he promoted Republican candidates and pitched $5,000 checks to encourage turnout. There’s just one problem: even some of his own supporters aren’t convinced those checks will arrive. Meanwhile, Trump and JD Vance announced a $25 million government fraud whistleblower program, offering rewards of up to $30,000 for qualifying tips. Nothing says Washington quite like announcing another multimillion-dollar program while promising to save money! And in Texas, early voting is off to an energetic start, with several counties reporting record first-day midterm turnout. Younger voters are showing up in Brazos County, too. Nobody knows how the votes will break, but Americans certainly aren’t waiting around for permission to participate.
With less than two weeks until Election Day, the campaigns are getting louder, the promises are getting bigger, and the voters are already doing something about it. That’s a much better use of a Tuesday than listening to another campaign speech. Yes, we know it’s Wednesday. The speeches are starting to blur together!
